Class Descriptions
 
 
Anything Goes cardio class - be ready for fun and motivating workouts.  It might be step one week, a circuit class the next, an interval class the next and a fat burning class the next week.  Steps, hand weights, balls and bands will be used.
 
BODYFLOW is the Yoga, Tai Chi, and Pliates workout that builds flexibility and strength and leaves you feeling centered and calm.
 
BODYFLOW/Core Movement - 1st & 3rd Tuesdays is BODYFLOW; 2nd & 4th Tuesdays is Core Movement.
 
BODYPUMP is a strength endurance training class.  It is designed to get you maximum results in the shortest amount of time by challenging every major muscle group in your body.  It has all the benefits of weight training including increased strength and metabolism.
 
BODYSTEP is a sizzling new class that's packed with great moves and music to blow the roof off.  It is an energizing step workout that pushes fat-burning systems into high gear.
 
Functional Strength/Circuit is a cardio and strength workout, incorporating strength training that will challenge every muscle group.
 
Functional Strength uses a variety of exercises and techniques to strengthen the entire body.  We will incorporate functional strength training, this method of training focuses and trains movements, not specific isolated muscles.
 
H.I.T. class is based on Krav Maga which is the official self defense and fighting system of the Israeli Military forces and many US law enforcement groups.  It is 45 minutes of punches, kicks, blocks, conditioning and fun!  This class is a fantastic high enery workout.  Before you can attend the class, you must attend a 30 minute technique class which is offered the first and third Wednesday of each month.
 
Just Abs is 15 minutes of intensive abdominal and core work.
 
Kickboxing will add variety to your exercise program.  This class includes a great cardio workout, kickboxing drills, and use of punching bags.  Gloves or wraps must be worn in this class.  (We have a loaner pair of wraps for first time use.)  Come join the fun!  Please sign up at the front desk.
 
Pilates Lite is a mat class focusing on core strength, flexibility, and endurance.  This "lite" class is geared toward the non-athlete or older individuals.  Level 1- for those with no prior Pilates experience.  Level 2 - for those ready for more intermediate level excercises.  Please sign up at the front desk.
 
Step Circuit w/Abs is a 3:1 ratio - three minutes of Step with one minute of muscle conditioning while stepping on and off the Step platform.
 
*Tai Chi Fitness is an easy-to-follow blend of an ancient Chinese martial art and Western exercise science; movements are slow...yet condition body and mind.  Monthly pre-registration required, class fee is reduced for LRC members; non-members welcome too!  Call Chris Headlee 310-5990 to register.
 
The Step is a cardio workout done on a platform built to a height for your fitness level.  By stepping up and down off the platform you build and use your cardiovascular system while strengthening and toning your upper and lower body.
 
Tone 'n Shape is designed to give a total muscular workout with emphasis placed on toning and strengthening the body's large muscle groups.  The classes are designed to incorporate a variety of effective exercises and techniques.
 
Weight Room Circuit makes use of the free weight equipment.  Between strength training sets, we will jog or walk three laps on the track.  This is great workout!
 
Yoga is an Eastern exercise/mediation practice that helps improve strength, flexibility, stress reduction and cardiovascular health.
 
Zumba fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a one-of-a-kind fitness program that will blow you away.  Experience an absolute blast in one hour of calorie-burning, body-energizing movements meant to engage and captivate for life!
 
Any class that averages less than six participants may be dropped from the schedule.
